Junior Kent 7’s

empty

Very tired and completely soaked but the U16 Crimsons ended the season with an excellent performance at the Kent 7s on Sunday. 100% in the group stage but narrow defeats in the semi final and the plate meant 4th place overall.

Congratulations to the U16s who won the Kent County RFU 7s.  The team were on form throughout scoring 229 points and conceded only 5 in the group stages and semi-final.  The final was a hard fought affair against a strong TJs side, with the boys overcoming a 0-19 deficit to win 33-19.

An incredible set of results: OC U16 – 40-0 – Canterbury, OC U16 – 57-0 – Gravesend, OC U16 – 33-0 – Old Alleynians, OC U16 – 73-0 -Whitstable, OC U16 – 26-5 Dartford Valley, OC U16 – 33-19 TJs

Really exciting prospects for Colts next season…

U14’s won the goblet at the Kent 7’s last weekend

U13’s were looking to secure top spot with our final Kent waterfall match against Southwark Tigers today. After an uncharacteristically focused warm up we started the game slowly. On a fast 4G pitch, Southwark’s pace and power pushed us to make lots of handling errors and we went in 30-5 at half time. Second half was a different story and we came out of the blocks on a mission. Some powerful running in centre of the park proved too much for Southwark’s defence and we scored three quick tries to narrow the gap. The final five minutes involved two physical teams hammering away at each other and we managed to score another try out wide and looked dead set secure a draw, but we could not quite get the ball to the line to convert our pressure.

Final score Southwark Tigers 30 OCs 25. A comeback to be proud of but just bridge too far.
