Crimsons U18s prevail against Dartfordians

On Sunday 28th, the U18s Crimsons/Sevenoaks team were hosted by Dartfordians. 

It was a a quick start to the game, and within two minutes the Crimsons were on the scoresheet with a pick-and-go from the scrum from Natalie. Lara added the extras. 7-0 

Dartfordians answered straight back after a knock-on from the kick-off,  and played a couple of phases which then led to a score. Con successful 7-7 

With Darts in possession from the kick off, a few missed tackles from the Crimsons saw a second Darts try in quick succession. Con good 14-7

Crimsons were awarded a scrum 30m out from a Darts knock-on. A pass from Iona to Lara who had moved to the blindside gave Lara an opportunity to run it in down the wing to score. This time she couldn’t convert. 14-12

After just a few phases, Darts yet again took the lead with a score out wide. 19-12 

The Crimsons defence started to work together, and for their efforts gained a turnover in the midfield where Mariana offloaded to Natalie who scored under the sticks. Kick unsuccessful. 19-17 

Both sides seemed a little warmer with more ball going to hand and the pace began to gather. Lara raced down the wing to bag herself another try. 19- 22

Not letting the Crimsons pull away, Darts responded by spreading the ball wide to one of their strongest ball carriers who scored for them to take the lead by two. 24-22

With just a few minutes until half time, Bolu made a line break, the ball was moved quickly and there was another try for Natalie 24-27. 

Lara used her feet and then saw some space before another long run in to score.  24-32 

To finish the half, Darts scored out wide and brought the score to within 3. 29-32

After a rather stern team talk from Tom, the Crimsons began the second half with a totally different attitude. Carries were better, players were looking for space and everyone started to make their tackles. The Crimsons were rewarded a penalty and Natalie took quick tap and go to score 29-37. 

The ball was turned over again by the Crimsons and with three attempts short of the line, Natalie finally found some space to dot down again. Izzy took to kicking duty and added the extras 29-44.

The Crimsons confidence was building, and from a line-out, Lara kicked in behind the Darts defensive line. There was a missed dive on the ball but the Crimsons received yet another penalty as Darts started to tire. A quick tap penalty was taken and Izzy scored. Missed con 29-49.

This time it was Bolu’s turn to score under the posts after a powerful run in. 29-56.

Izzy wanted in on more of the action, and made a fantastic line break followed by a pass out to Charlotte, who was able to show her pace in space, and ran in a try from 40m out! 29-63.

The Crimsons were really building and Darts just couldn’t grasp back hold of any possession. After another few phases, Bolu scored her second of the day. 29-70.

Proving their strength across the team, the Crimsons continued to knock on Darts’ door and with a big carry from Charlotte, Iona moved the ball well to Lara and then out to Ivanna who offloaded back to Lara to score in the corner. 29-75

The game ended with Lonnie scoring after a fantastic line break and a charge for the line! 29-80
