It was the Crimsons’ U18s turn to travel this week – and despite the petrol shortage 15 x OC/Sevenoaks girls managed to make it all the way to Thanet to take on the East Kent Viragos for our first league game.
From the start, the Crimsons’ experience, strength and speed resulted in a strong performance and a succession of tries, many converted by Lara despite the wind. By half-time it was 41-0 and things continued in a similar vein in the second half until the final whistle with East Kent Viragos putting up a courageous battle but ultimately failing to score.
Crimson try scorers were Natalie, Lara, Bolu, Joan, and from Sevenoaks tries were scored by Jocelyn, Charlotte and Izzie. There were also several successful conversions from Lara, Natalie, Joan and Izzie. But of course the final score was the work of the whole squad so well done to Iona, Mariana, Jess, Olivia, Amy, Hannah and Lucy for a complete team performance. And to Assistant Coach Helen for her all-important half-time team talk ?
