Crimsons U15s vs Tunbridge Wells

empty

The Crimsons U15s made their way down to Tunbridge Wells today and had a great afternoon playing against their hosts. We’ve had some great tussles with Wells in the past and with nine hungry and experienced players today, I knew we’d have a great chance to get one over on our opponents.

Playing seven aside, the Crimsons handling of the ball was excellent from start to finish. I was really proud of the girls and the fact they didn’t let the horrendous conditions get to them. At times, the ball was like the proverbial ‘bar of soap’, but we managed to keep the ball alive and be patient going forward.

Contrary to what was happening on the pitch behind us, the 15s managed to build a strong lead in the first quarter of the game. Most of the team scored tries on the day, with Marianna and Natalie also notching a handful of conversions.

What was also really pleasing, is the fact we didn’t concede any tries. A resolute defence is something that all great teams have and this was certainly the case today.

Credit to TWRFC for not giving up and playing the game in a great spirit.
