Crimsons U15s vs Basildon

empty

It was a tough day at the office for the Crimson’s U15s this Sunday after a fantastic start to the season last week: The girls played a well organised and powerful side in Basildon but more than matched them in the later stages of the game.

Unfortunately due to a slow start the game got away from the Crimsons in the first 20 mins, but things changed after a well-needed break to talk tactics and get back on track. After getting a reality check and a few positional moves, the girls came storming back in the second 20 min section, with two near length-of-field tries by Natalie and also managing to limit Basildon to one score.

The third 20 min slot started similarly to the first with Basildon utilising their strong running game. But with some brave last ditch tackling and some fantastic defensive tackles, the Crimsons managed to keep them out. Unfortunately due to tiredness the girls conceded some tries later on but not before Paulina managed to get on the score sheet for the first time. The final score was Crimsons 19, Basildon 35.

So a hard day at the office, but a great development opportunity for the girls and they will look to make amends in the coming weeks. Fantastic effort by both sides and we hope to come up against them again very soon.
