Crimsons U15’s WIN the Kent X7s

empty

On Sunday, both the Crimsons U15s and U18s went to Medway to compete in the inaugural Kent X7s. For those who haven’t heard of this format, it’s essentially 7s as we know it but with a couple of tweaks to the laws – no kick-offs, grubber kicks only, smaller pitches etc.

The U18s went with a bare squad of 7 players which was always going to be a tough ask for four games, but they competed valiantly, and special shout-outs need to go to Aimee and Maria who were impressive throughout the day.

The U15s had a more successful day at the office, with everyone contributing immensely throughout the group stages. Fantastic performances came against the likes of Medway (50-19), Beckenham (54-12) and Channel Barbarians (54-7). In the final, we came up against a physical Dartfordians side and the Crimsons defence was outstanding, holding up their opposition at least five times over the try-line!

It was a tense game but the defence remained resolute with the final score 19-7 to the Crimsons. Each of the girls gave a great account of themselves, from both an offensive and defensive standpoint. To score 177 points on the day and concede a mere 45 was a testament to the great work the girls have been putting into training week in, week out.
