A Very Frustrating Afternoon

1814

A clinical first half display saw OC’s go back into the sheds at 23-3 to the good. The tries came from Miles Jones, who ran a lethal line through the heart of the Medway defence with OCs first piece of possession. Chris Harris was able to extend the lead with the boot as he often does, and Louis Baker showed off his dad strength to burst through what seemed to be a made tackle and run in under the posts.

Frustratingly, despite the wind being physically behind OCs, the momentum shifted in the other direction as Medway were able to lower their penalty and error count which allowed them to peg OCs back and score a final try with around 5 minutes remaining.

The manner of the defeat hurt, but the performance was an improvement since our drop off from the turn of the year. Trev still somewhere across Asia, Charlie Baker received MoTM in the form of an aftershave bottle for an industrious display on both sides of the ball.

An improvement on the previous weeks’ performance was unfortunately still not enough for OCs to be back in the wins, with the first team running out of steam in the later stages and narrowly losing 23-27.

MOTM: Charlie Baker

Alacadoos: Danny Gardiner

The score line of the twos did not reflect the effort levels as many stepped up out of position to plug the holes of last minute drop outs.
