Project 100 Complete and New Changing Rooms Officially Open!
We are thrilled to announce a major milestone for Old Colfeians RFC! On Sunday, 19 April, we officially opened our brand-new girls’ and women’s accessible changing rooms at Horn Park.
This project is more than just bricks and mortar—it represents our commitment to providing an inclusive, high-standard environment where every player can thrive.
The Grand Opening
The day kicked off with a celebration of the local community. We were honoured to welcome the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor Linda Bird, who performed the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Following the unveiling, our DoR, Vicky Fleetwood, led a guided tour of the new facilities. Accompanied by members of our Under-18 Crimsons squad, Vicky showcased how these upgrades will support the clear pathway we are building for girls—from their first session at grassroots level all the way to elite performance.
A Huge Thank You
This development wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our community. We owe a massive thank you to all of our donors, benefactors and fundraisers who have helped us to turn our ideas into some of the best facilities in Kent rugby! We also want to acknowledge the vital funding contributions and support from the Rugby Football Union, The Veolia Environmental Trust, Kent RFU and Sport England.
Action on the Pitch
The celebration continued with plenty of rugby! We hosted a fast-paced Girls’ Sevens Round Robin, featuring teams from across the region.
From the Under-12s to the Under-18s, the standard of play was exceptional. It was a proud moment for the club to see the U18 fixtures taking centre stage on the 1st XV pitch, highlighting the strength and growth of the girls’ game in our area.
Growing the Women’s Game at OCs
With facilities in place, a growing number of girls across the age groups and support and enthusiasm throughout the club, expect to see more news about the Women’s Game at OCs soon
