At the past players lunch and reunion we saw a some great OC legends receive our highest honour and very prestigious award. After a few Welsh folk songs and some questionable singing from Dele…
Congrats to the following for 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ club appearances:
James Griffiths
Alex Wickes
Stephen Corlett
Below are the U7’s at Sevenoaks and Beckenham, plus the U9’s at Vigo on a very muddy Sunday.
]]>Whilst the game was far from pretty, OCs showed just enough quality to grind out the win and secure 4 crucial points.
Stand out performers included Daniel Hepden for his snake like runs and solid defence, Dele for some strong carries and scrummaging and Carlie Baker for his work rate.
However Trevor will be returning to the House of Cheeky (presumably via some questionable bars/clubs). Big hits and strong carrying were the order of the week for our resident scouser.
MOTM ???? – Jake Carter
]]>It was good to see three of our Colts making their senior match debut Nathan Seva, Leon Atkins and Harry Hodgkiss. The following is a quote from Joe Ting ‘Harry was in our first ever Rugby Munchkins class.’
]]>Frustratingly, despite the wind being physically behind OCs, the momentum shifted in the other direction as Medway were able to lower their penalty and error count which allowed them to peg OCs back and score a final try with around 5 minutes remaining.
The manner of the defeat hurt, but the performance was an improvement since our drop off from the turn of the year. Trev still somewhere across Asia, Charlie Baker received MoTM in the form of an aftershave bottle for an industrious display on both sides of the ball.
An improvement on the previous weeks’ performance was unfortunately still not enough for OCs to be back in the wins, with the first team running out of steam in the later stages and narrowly losing 23-27.
MOTM: Charlie Baker
Alacadoos: Danny Gardiner
The score line of the twos did not reflect the effort levels as many stepped up out of position to plug the holes of last minute drop outs.
]]>An excellent display of perseverance from OC’s to hold off Beckenham and send them back to the other side of South London with their third consecutive loss…an early Christmas present.
Genuinely, one of the best games we have played this season it was filled with excellent bouts of play from both teams. Wishing Beckenham the best of luck for the rest of the year. The score line reflective of how close the match really was! Shoutout to Charlie Baker with fumble of the season – dropping the ball over the line, Matt Walker working hard to ensure Beckenham could get back into the game and Andy O’Malley for putting his lungs on the line every weekend.
Try scorers were Alex Smith, Charlie Baker and Chris Harris. 3 conversions and 3 penalties by Chris Harris.
Well done to the 3’s who also won beating Dartfordians 41 – 19.
MOTM ???? – Chris ‘Juicy’ Harris
Alacadoos ???? – Daniel Orubo
]]>Not a game for us to remember, Reeds Weybridge reminded us that you have to be on the pace from the start in what is a very tight league. With Miles, Connor and Chris Harris all in the running for MOTM last week it actually went to our new number 12. Victor had a great game both sides of the ball. Causing S&E problems with his running lines and putting others into space outside him. Smithy was happy to wear the fine for not bringing Trev back. As such, we used a ceremonial Veo in his place. |
