Weekend summary

The 1's lost narrowly away at Tunbridge Wells and the 2's lost a hard fought game away against OE's.

In the Stiffs games OE's had a bloke sent off very early on for a comical punch at Hughsie and a head butt at Le Tils and we were just about in it after an hour but they scored 4 times in the last 20 to make it comfortable for them. From OC's perspective we were pretty average throughout and for some periods, not even that. The only bright spark was Hugh Mac in attack and defence, although Le Tils also defended well. Rupert commented: Yet another narrow defeat for the 1's away at Tunbridge Wells and that is now 3 narrow defeats in a row. The frustration and disappointment was obvious to see from all the players at the final whistle, but the important thing now is to use those emotions to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. When we went 13-12 up mid way through the 2nd half, after earlier being 3-12 down, I really thought we had the game in our grip. However a mistake from the kick off and then slow reactions in defence led to the winning try and a lesson of having to be switched on for the full 80 minutes is learnt the hard way. Chichester at home this week is by no means an easy game to try to get back to winning ways, but with hard work this week and the right attitude at training and next Saturday happier times can be achieved sooner rather than later. To blame these defeats on the fact we have so many regulars away at the moment is the easy option, it is for everyone else to step up their game. See you all at training next week.
