Second Jack Petchey Award

The second award under the Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award Scheme was made on 17 December 2006 following the last training session of the year.

Charlie Banks, a member of the U12s mini rugby section was presented with a framed certificate and a cheque for £600 by Clive Corlett, Treasurer of Old Colfeians' RFC. In introducing the presentation, Martin Cole, a member of the Nominations Panel and team manager of Charlie's side commented: "Charlie has been a dedicated Old Colfeians' minis player for the last four years and has regularly played 'A' team rugby throughout that period. He is an outstanding back row player both in attack and defence, and is a regular try scorer. Charlie displays a mature attitude on the pitch, leading by example and accepting with grace when things go against the team! He is a cheerful and enthusiastic member of the squad who acts as a focus for the other members." Charlie has asked that the award be spent by the club on additional training aids such as tackle bags and tubes, poles, cones and ladders.
